Welcome to Maendeleo ya Walemavu Organization, a non- profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities in the Republic of Kenya.
It was founded in March 2022.
Maendeleo ya walemavu works tirelessly to promote inclusion, empowerment and accessibility for individuals with diverse abilities.

Our mission is to advocate for the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, while fostering a society that embraces diversity and equality.

We envision a world where people with disabilities are fully integrated into all aspects of society, with equal access to opportunities and resources.

We champion inclusivity by creating equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of ability. We empower persons with disabilities to realize their potential and advocate for their rights. Maendeleo ya Walemavu Organization advocates for five key pillars that promote the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of persons living with disabilities. Legal Assistance
We provide legal guidance, rights awareness, referrals, and advocacy support to help persons with disabilities access justice, protect their rights, and confidently navigate legal and administrative processes.
Advocacy and Awareness
We champion disability rights through advocacy, public education, community outreach, and awareness campaigns that challenge stigma, influence policy, and promote an inclusive society where every person is valued and respected.
Assistive Technology
We improve independence by connecting persons with disabilities to assistive technologies, adaptive devices, digital accessibility tools, and training that enhance communication, mobility, education, employment, and daily living.
Accessibility solutions
We assess, design, and promote accessible physical, digital, and social environments by supporting inclusive infrastructure, universal design, accessibility audits, and practical solutions that remove barriers to participation.
Health and Rehabilitation
We promote healthier lives through accessible healthcare, rehabilitation services, psychosocial support, assistive devices, health education, and community wellness initiatives that improve the wellbeing and independence of persons with disabilities.
Climate Change and Resilience
We empower vulnerable communities, including persons with disabilities, to adapt to climate change through environmental conservation, climate-smart livelihoods, disaster preparedness, and sustainable resource management, building resilience for a safer future.
